Free Eyeglasses for Students

Having clear vision is essential to a student's success in school. When the words in a textbook are blurry or the math problem on the whiteboard is hard to make out, it can be difficult for a student to follow along with the teacher's lesson and learn the content. Thankfully, programs exist like Vision to Learn! We are so fortunate that they have returned to Aliquippa for another year to provide vision screenings, eye exams, and eyeglasses to our students at no cost to their families! Many students are taking home their brand-new glasses today! Read more about this amazing organization here.

Robotics Discovery Day Field Trip

Mr. Signorelli, AES STEM teacher and Quip Bots coach, took his 10-member QuipBots team along with 10 5th- and 6th-grade students  to Robotics Discovery Day at the David L.Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on November 16th, 2022. Several Universities and robotics companies presented information and demonstrated their hardware and software. Students saw everything from a self-driving Formula 1 car to giant drones that deliver medical supplies. Read more about Discovery Day 2022 here. View photos from their day here.

Point Park Visit

Sixteen students had the opportunity to visit Point Park University on November 1st. Students enjoyed breakout sessions from the Head of High School Recruiting on Financial Literacy and the Director of Finacial Aide on how to finance their Education. Multiple Deans including those from the Human Resources, Communication, and Business Departments shared information about their programs. In addition, students heard from students at all levels of their education at Point Park University (undergraduate, graduate, Masters, Doctorial, as well as student-athletes). Their visit ended with a tour of the campus which included the Media Building and PNC Theater. Check out the photos from the event here.
