Aliquippa School District Remote Instruction

Please view the letter from our Superintendent of Schools below for more information:

Dear Aliquippa School District Community,

I hope everybody is doing well and staying healthy in this uncertain time. With this uncertainty, I do hope everybody has gotten a chance to relax and spend quality time with your close ones considering the circumstances. I am sure you have heard that Governor Wolf has closed all schools indefinitely at this time. With schools being closed, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has required all Districts to provide a “Continuity of Education” plan. The Aliquippa School District will continue to provide learning opportunities for students by providing instruction remotely. We are well aware this situation is new and will provide challenges for all involved. This Thursday, April 2, 2020 teachers will begin to post assignments via Class Dojo, Google Classroom or on another system of learning and communicating. It is very important as parents to sign-up, register and prepare to login to those systems as soon as possible.

It is very important to remember this is a learning experience for everybody (adults and students). Your patience during this time and moving forward is greatly appreciated. Expectations for all should be manageable. The last thing we want to do is overwhelm you as parents and most importantly we do not want the students overwhelmed. One of the challenges is a having a technological device. The District will be providing information in the next day or so for those who do not have a technological device. No students will be penalized for not completing work due to not having access to a technological device. The expectation is for staff to be available 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on school days to answer email, messages or any other modes of communication. It is very important at the elementary school for parents to accept Class Dojo invites. All assignments/links will be posted there. Once again, your patience is appreciated. Make sure to keep visiting the District website for updated information.

Stay safe, stay calm and practice social distancing.

Sincerely,
Peter M. Carbone, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

All of our teachers are working hard to provide online instruction and are available from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM during regular school days. We will do everything we can to provide educational resources and new ways for teachers and students to connect, but learning requires structure and consistency. Make sure to take time to learn everyday and help students grow.
