What is the PSSA test? |
Preparing for the PSSA
It is time to begin another PSSA spring testing schedule. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires all school districts to administer the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) tests in writing, reading/mathematics and science according to the following schedule:
These are the dates of the testing windows established by the PA Department of Education. The actual testing and make-up dates for each building will fall within the testing windows established by PDE; however, each building principal (in conjunction with input from the faculty) will establish specific testing and make-up dates for his/her building, based on building schedules and other things that might impact on a quiet and uninterrupted testing environment for students in each respective building.
The PSSA test results provide this school district with an objective measure of its educational program. They also assist you in gaining a better understanding of your child"s ability and performance based on state standards. Last Modified on February 10, 2009
