AES Black History Family Literacy Night

On February 15th, the elementary shool hosted its annual Black History Family Literacy Night. Students in attendance took a walk through history learning all about the accomplishments of famous African Americans while creating projects, performing experiments, and collecting postage stamps. AES 11th Annual Story Walk

The elementary school held its 11th annual Story Walk on Saturday, March 10th. Over 100 children attended with their families. This year's theme was "Reading Genres". It was a wonderful morning with over a dozen interactive activities and make-and-takes for the children to enjoy. Click here to view photos from the superhero stations. Slippery Rock Humanities Ladder Summer Academy

Do you want to find out what it’s like to be a college student?  Slippery Rock University is offering a FREE, one week camp for any interested 10th and 11th grade student, from June 18-22, 2018.  Students will stay on campus and all meals, activities, and transportation to and from Aliquippa are included!  Students will participate in workshops focused on the humanities, including art, archaeology, history role-playing games, calligraphy, and much, much more!  When not in workshops, students will enjoy activities like intramural sports, hip hop dance classes, and off-campus field trips.  A $25.00 deposit is due by March 31, 2018 to reserve your spot.  This will be returned provided you attend the camp.  Don’t delay!  The number of spots is limited!  See your guidance counselor for further information. Paid Work Experiences Available (Ages 18 - 24)

ALIQUIPPA YOUTH - Are you looking to gain work experience? Are you able to pass a drug test? Participants must meet eligibility requirements determined by the State and Federal Government. $9/hr. up to 35 hrs. a week in partnership with Job Training for Beaver County. Contact 724-728-2020
